Spirituality: Friend or Foe of Religion

The growth of spirituality has become a threat and a possibility for organized religion.  People are seeking experiences of God and not necessarily finding them in traditional religions, which are filled with scandals, schisms, divisions, and controversy.  Yet, personal spirituality cannot fill all the needs for community, ritual, work for justice, and more.  The day will attempt to wrestle with this question to empower us for transformation.

This will be a SILENT retreat, with quiet, personal time to reflect on stirrings of the soul.  Individual Spiritual Direction throughout the weekend offered by a team of spiritual directors.

April  10:  Men's issues in spiritual direction

Men have unique issues and ways of being on the spiritual journey. Male issues and ways of offering spiritual direction with men will be specifically addressed.

April 11-12: Men's retreat

Begins at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday with evening meal and continues through 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

As spiritual directors we are invited into the land of process, ambivalence, movements, and depth questions. This Institute will assist men to live into the deeper questions of our lives and tend the Mystery present in the questions.
